An indulgent retreat

Nestled within the historic Beau-Rivage hotel, the Rivage Café is a stylish meeting place for both local residents and out-of-towners alike. The relaxed atmosphere blends the elegance of a contemporary bar with creative, cosmopolitan cuisine. Inspired by regional produce and international influences, the café has a modern bistro style with its own distinctive character.

The menu features seasonal dishes that combine local ingredients with influences from all over the world. These are complemented by sophisticated cocktails, tasty snacks perfect for sharing, and plenty of reasons to linger a little longer than originally planned.

What do the guests order, what does the chef love?

If time allows it, the chef prepares a lightly pan-seared Swiss salmon with Venus rice. Venus rice? The maestro laughs: "Yes, it’s black whole-grain rice from northern Italy, very aromatic and easy to digest." The dish is refined with exquisite trout roe and beurre blanc.

And the diners? They currently love ordering the spinach and potato gnocchi with broccolini, green peas and creamy stracciatella. And those who can’t decide whether to go for the maestro’s favorite or the guests’ first choice often choose to make a return visit.

Stars and Stripes, Bern

Whether it’s the kickoff or the first face-off, the vibes at the Stars and Stripes in Bern are akin to a sports stadium. And when the chef fires up the grill, it can be hard to decide between what brings more joy: the highlights on the pitch, the ice rink or the plate.
