"Old World" meets new favorite wines
The place where wine for the Ristorante Lorenzini was once stored is now home to an assortment from Europe’s classic wine regions – including some great bottles from Switzerland. Wine experts refer to these vintages as being wines from the "Old World" – meaning France, Italy, Spain and neighboring countries.
When it’s time to make a choice, personal taste should always be the starting point. Yet for those who want to play it safe for a candlelit dinner, Simon Hess is the man to consult. After all, each bottle of wine on the shelves has a story to tell – and Simon knows them all, sharing them in a way which is as knowledgeable as it is entertaining.
From wine rack to dinner table
Choosing a bottle of wine is one thing. Seeing how it blends with a particular dish is quite the other. To this end, the Enoteca features a show kitchen and a Table d’Hôte for up to twelve guests. It also has a garden for barbecue and fondue evenings, complete with perfectly paired wines. For those who prefer to make their choice in the comfort of their home, the new online shop has been available to browse since September 1.
