Brasserie Bodu, Lucerne
Paris meets Lucerne: Brasserie Bodu on the Kornmarkt has been enchanting diners with authentic French brasserie cuisine, nostalgic charm and warm hospitality for more than 25 years.
A place like no other
There’s no other restaurant quite like Bodu in Lucerne. What Monsieur Richard P. Beaudoux created from the former Gasthaus Raben over two decades ago is now an institution – with a flair that can’t be imitated. You simply have to experience it. The long brasserie, the cozy wine tavern, the bar with its nostalgic charm, and the balcony overlooking the Reuss River, Mount Pilatus and the Jesuit church: Each corner of Bodu tells its own story. If you like, you can simply let yourself be swept away – with a glass of wine, the sound of French chansons, and cuisine that proudly carries the "Fait Maison" label.
What do the guests order, what does the chef love?
Chef Franjo Psihistal cooks what he’s passionate about – and the diners can taste it. His current favorites: an asparagus cream soup which enchants with its simplicity, followed by a vegetable couscous seasoned with Ras el Hanout, grilled eggplant and a yogurt-mint dip.
The guests often start their gourmet experience with the "Les Cocottes" sparkling wine – an effervescent Chardonnay made alcohol-free through vacuum distillation. Opinions are divided when it comes to the starter: Some love the pasta pockets filled with young spinach, entrecôte, and bacon, served with a delicate caper and white wine sauce. Others prefer the vegetarian alternative: seasonal ravioli from the Safra Genuss-Manufaktur in Lucerne, served with freshly selected ingredients and a fitting sauce.
The diners are also spoiled for choice when it comes to the main course: Both the house entrecôte with herb butter and homemade fries, and the fillet of Swiss Alpine salmon, grilled skin-on and served with crisp summer salad, tomatoes and garlic bread, are certain to thrill.
And wherever the choice may fall, the call from the kitchen is always the same: bon appétit!
