Apply for a partner card with the Platinum Card
As a holder of the Platinum Card, you can apply for up to five cards in addition to your principal card. This allows you to share the advantages of American Express credit cards with your loved ones. The additional cards can be ordered together with the Platinum Card at no extra cost:
- Another Platinum Card
- Up to four additional credit cards, either as a Gold Card or as an American Express Card
The advantages of the respective additional card(s) depend on the variant selected. Holders of the partner card enjoy the full advantages. The Platinum Card and partner card are particularly worthwhile if you like traveling together, for example.
Good to know: no annual fee is charged for partner cards. However, certain other costs may be incurred, such as foreign currency fees when paying abroad. For details, please refer to the application form for additional credit cards.
Additional cards for the Gold Card and American Express Card
At American Express, you can also apply for partner cards for the Gold Card or American Express Card. However, unlike the Platinum Card, these are not included at no extra cost. An annual fee of CHF 150 is charged for additional Gold Cards, while the fee for each additional American Express Card is CHF 75 per year.
Step by step: how to apply for American Express partner card(s)
American Express offers partner cards for all the credit cards in its portfolio, regardless of whether your principal card is the Platinum Card, the Gold Card or another card. The application process is the same for every card and can be completed in just a few steps:
- Download the application form for additional credit cards for your type of principal card.
- Complete the form and select your preferred partner cards. Important: Both the holder of the principal card and the holder of the future partner card must sign the document.
- In addition to your personal details, please enclose a copy of your official identification (passport, ID card or driver’s license) with your application. Depending on the agreed limit for the principal card account, a certified copy may be required.
