Once around the Mediterranean, please!

In the large bookcase at "MAMA & ZITA", there are two books side by side: the La cuisine marocaine cookbook and a travel guide for Italy. The concept of the Mediterranean restaurant in the international district of Geneva can hardly be summed up more accurately, because it invites guests on an indulgent gourmet trip around the Mediterranean. On the menu: Neapolitan pizzas, homemade pasta, Moroccan couscous dishes and intensely spiced keftas – to name just a few examples. The ambience is also a harmonious mélange of oriental vintage chic, urban bistro aesthetics and the coziness of Mama’s living room. So it’s no wonder that a glance at the many positive Tripadvisor reviews confirms that "MAMA & ZITA" has become a second home for many.

What do the guests order, what does the chef love?

What the guests love? "Definitely our beef keftas," says Pasquale Causa – and his eyes reveal: He totally understands why. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, spiced just like at the market in Marrakech, served with potato mousseline and melt-in-your-mouth eggplant. And when the kitchen slowly calms down, the chef treats himself to a hint of a sea breeze: linguine with Veraci mussels, perfectly finished with Bottarga di Muggine. Salty, sunny and uncompromisingly Mediterranean. "This is my personal getaway to Italy," he laughs.
