"ANNA": A neighbourhood oasis with a Mediterranean soul

The ANNA restaurant north of Zurich's old town combines Italian warmth with modern design. Exposed concrete, clean lines and an open-plan layout create a relaxed setting that perfectly complements the Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. Its 15 points in the GaultMillau guide are no exaggeration.

Host Maria Ventola and head chef Stefano Corrado uphold Italian tradition with a contemporary twist. Snacks such as arancino with truffles and egg yolk and homemade sourdough bread with tomato tapenade showcase the playful creativity of the kitchen team. An example of the refined culinary artistry is smoked risotto with nut butter and elm mushrooms.

Must-do: try the sea buckthorn sorbet for dessert. 

 "Gandria": A touch of Ticino in Zurich

At the top Italian restaurant Gandria in Zurich's Seefeld district, Adriano Peroncini from Apulia has been serving sophisticated yet accessible Italian cuisine since 2015. It has been awarded 16 points in the GaultMillau guide.

The atmosphere is understated and stylish, without any fuss. The tasting menus feature seasonal ingredients and inspiration from northern and southern Italy, resulting in exciting combinations: try the aubergine parmigiana with vegan basil mayo or stuffed quail with vegetable caponata.

The wine list at Gandria leaves nothing to be desired and makes it easy to find the right glass to accompany your meal. At the end, it's worth taking a look at the dessert menu, which includes homemade cassata siciliana. In summer, choose a table on the garden terrace and enjoy the location and cuisine with a glass of Merlot.

"Ornellaia": wine culture meets gourmet cuisine

The Ristorante Ornellaia is located directly on Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse – a joint project between the winery of the same name in Bolgheri and the Bindella family from Zurich. In this outstanding Italian restaurant in Zurich, the open kitchen offers insights into the work of chef Gino Bordone, who has been awarded 15 points by GaultMillau.  

Typical dishes such as zuppa di pesce, homemade ravioli and filetto Rossini are served fresh to the table. The wine list features rare treasures, mature Ornellaia vintages and magnum formats. The service team impresses with its knowledge of the " " and a calm manner that ensures a slower pace even on the lively St. Annagasse.

Interesting fact: some of the large-format wine bottles are otherwise only available at international auctions.

 Casa Ferlin: a Zurich culinary classic since 1907

Casa Ferlin is a piece of Zurich's gastronomic history and has been family-run for over a hundred years. The Italian restaurant on Stampfenbachstrasse in Zurich offers a charming blend of Italian warmth, timeless interior design and classic dishes.
