With the American Express Platinum Card and Gold Card, travelers at Munich Airport have access to two lounges in terminal 1: the "Airport Lounge Europe" for Schengen departures, which features a buffet and beverages, as well as relaxation and work areas; and the "Airport Lounge World" for non-Schengen flights, which additionally offers showers, loungers, meditation rooms, Mute Labs and a children’s area.
For Platinum Cardholders, lounge access through the Priority Pass network is free and unlimited worldwide, while the Gold Card entitles holders to two free visits per year. All in all, the Priority Pass network encompasses more than 1,800 lounges at over 600 airports in more than 130 countries.
"Airport Lounge World": premium comfort on two levels
The "Airport Lounge World" at Munich Airport is the largest lounge on site, covering a total of 1,200 square meters across two levels and accommodating 200 passengers. This exclusive waiting area is located in the airside, non-Schengen section of the new terminal 1 pier, which was completed in 2026. You can book access regardless of which airline you’re flying with.
The "Airport Lounge World" meets all the expectations you might have for a modern airport lounge, whether you want to work undisturbed, enjoy a meal, enjoy a coffee in peace, or simply unwind. You can also take a shower in the lounge at no additional cost.
The lower, light-filled "Munich by Day" level features a buffet, a coffee bar, and a restaurant area with a spectacular view of the terminal 1 apron. As this area is located in the southwest of the building, you can also see as far as the Alps when the weather is clear.
One floor up is the "Munich by Night" level, featuring a darker interior perfect for those seeking tranquility. Several comfort zones are available for working or relaxing, including meditation rooms, an area with lounge chairs, a reading area and a bar. Two innovative Mute Labs are ideal for online meetings or phone calls.

At the "Airport Lounge Europe" in Munich, you can relax in a comfortable and exclusive atmosphere before your flight to destinations within the Schengen Area. This compact lounge is located past security on Level 5 near Module D.
