Swiss Style: 5 design labels from Switzerland
Do you already know these inspiring Swiss designers?

Focus on Swiss design
Precise, functional and restrained - yet innovative and with a special focus on quality: that is Swiss design. The Swiss style in graphic design, based on the Bauhaus style, emerged as early as the middle of the 20th century.
It is characterized by clear structures and an asymmetrical design and gave rise to the Swiss font "Helvetica", among other things.
Later, designers such as Alfredo Häberli and the Vitra company continued the intelligent-functional style in furniture design. And Christa de Carouge achieved international fame with her practical, mainly black clothing collections.
The young Swiss designers remain true to this tradition and focus on quality and precision. However, they are always more colorful and experimental. And sustainability is playing an increasingly important role. We present five promising labels that are helping to shape the Swiss design scene with their creations.
Caroline Flueler: timeless patterned textiles
Textile designer Caroline Flueler is known throughout Switzerland and beyond for her unmistakable designs: News presenters wear ties with her patterns and the airline SWISS uses her designs on the upholstery fabrics and accessories of its flight attendants.
She has also designed textile collections for numerous other companies in Switzerland and around the world. Caroline Flueler's signature is characterized by graphic, minimalist designs with checks, stripes or dots in various colour gradients.
Her stylish accessories - from scarves and socks to bags - and products such as bath towels, blankets and cushions are made from high-quality wool or silk. They are available in selected stores throughout Switzerland and in her AtelierLaden in Oberwil-Zug.
Mark Schwarz: personalized watches
The Swiss company VAULT was born out of a spontaneous idea in a beer garden. It produces unusual mechanical watches that are tailored to individual customer wishes. Founder Mark Schwarz wants to show in a creative way how valuable time is.
Each time the watch is reset, its appearance changes, reflecting each person's individual perception of time. The timepieces are therefore much more than a fashion statement, they have a symbolic character. VAULT watches are particularly popular with entrepreneurs from all over the world.
Julian Zigerli: sporty and colorful fashion
The young designer Julian Zigerli inspires with his eye-catching and dynamic collections. After initially concentrating only on men's fashion, he now designs clothing and accessories for men and women. He combines playful, colorful designs with sporty and timeless cuts.
Julian Zigerli frequently collaborates with artists from various fields for his designs. He has already presented his fashion in cities such as London, Berlin, Milan, New York and Paris. The products are available online or in the Julian Zigerli flagship store in Zurich.
The values of designer Julian Zigerli are love, color, humor and positivity. This is reflected in his often brightly colored designs, in which he also plays with Swiss motifs time and again.
Christina Stahl: stylish bags
With her ALEMI Zurich laptop bags, Christina Stahl wants to support fashion-conscious women in their careers. The designs are timelessly elegant and at the same time very practical, making them a perfect fit for the Swiss design tradition. The founder came up with the idea because she herself was looking in vain for a functional yet elegant laptop bag. Today, the label produces a very successful range of handbags.
Christina Stahl set up ALEMI Zurich together with her husband and now employs a predominantly female team. Production takes place in a small family business in Italy.
The brand's former name (AMELI) referred to the French word "améliorer", which means "to improve". The mission is to empower women to become the best version of themselves.

Catherine Meuter and Stefan Mathys: long-lasting sneakers
When they came up with the idea for their label VYN, Catherine Meuter and Stefan Mathys had already been working in the luxury shoe industry for many years. They noticed that sneakers are always produced and bought from season to season and quickly end up in the bin. Their vision was a long-lasting and therefore much more sustainable shoe.
VYN sneakers last three times longer than conventional models. This is partly due to the high-quality materials and careful workmanship, and partly to the modular system, which makes it easy to replace a worn heel area. This also makes it possible to change the color accents on the sole.
VYN focuses on sustainability, classic design and quality. The sneakers offer wearable luxury for everyday wear and an intelligent system for changing the heel area.
