A few friends and their passion for wine from California’s Napa Valley – that was the beginning of “NapaWine”. Seven years ago, the “Napa fans” ventured to set up an online store for unique products from boutique wineries.
On the slopes of the Napa Valley, northeast of San Francisco, grapes thrive in unique conditions: The vines grow in the water-permeable and low-nutrient soils, which provide grapes with a higher sugar content. Once upon a time in California …
It all started with a motorcycle tour through Napa Valley. The friends from Switzerland quickly agreed: These unique wines must be imported to their homeland. In 2015, they founded “NapaWine” and began to build a comprehensive range. Today, lovers of rare vintages will find everything their hearts desire in the online range: The suppliers are hand-picked boutique wineries that produce the smallest quantities in top quality and receive excellent scores from international wine critics. Choose from a Cabernet Sauvignon from Au Sommet, BRAND or Arrow & Branch, a Chardonnay from Bacigalupi and a Platt Pinot from Fayard Wines. On the website, you can learn more about the vineyards, the people who put their heart and soul into them and, of course, about the wines that whisk our taste buds into another world: The Pinot Noir from Maxem, for example, is “medium ruby-violet in color. It exudes powerful aromas of warm blackberries, mulberries and black cherry compote, with hints of violets, dark chocolate and cardamom.”

That’s why the founders of “NapaWine” didn’t rest on their laurels, but opened the perfect restaurant for their favorite wine on the Hürlimann site: “Californian fine dining” is the order of the day at “NapaGrill”. Enjoy the best meat from the legendary Charles Eisendrath grill in the unique premium steakhouse setting. Star butcher Bryan Flannery from the USA supplies the meat with quality label. Special emphasis is placed on controlled and sustainable animal husbandry. Of course, vegetarians and vegans also get their money’s worth, because the focus at “NapaGrill” is on personal enjoyment – and for the vast majority of guests, this is only perfect when the right wine is also served at the diner’s tables.
