1 The welcome bonus of Membership Rewards (MR) points and the reduced annual fee for the first year is available to any applicant who has not been the (principal card) holder of an American Express Platinum Card® or Gold Card® issued by Swisscard within the last 18 months. MR points are only credited if the cards are issued after the card application has been checked, usually within eight weeks. If the applicant cancels the card contract within 13 months of the card being issued, the welcome bonus is forfeited without replacement: the MR points are deducted or recalled and the regular annual fee (CHF 900) also applies to the first year. Swisscard will either debit the difference to the card account or invoice it separately.
